ReefATLAS Terms of Service

Effective date: June 11, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of ReefATLAS, including the ReefATLAS website, ReefATLAS applications, the standalone ReefATLAS PAR Estimator app, cloud services, support services, subscriptions, and connected integrations. By using ReefATLAS, you agree to these terms and to use ReefATLAS only for lawful reef aquarium planning, tracking, lighting-estimation, connected-device, and related account-management purposes.

Relationship to Apple's Standard EULA

If you download or use a ReefATLAS app through the Apple App Store, your use of that app is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless a custom license is separately provided in App Store Connect. Apple's standard EULA is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These Terms supplement Apple's standard EULA and govern ReefATLAS accounts, services, content, subscriptions, support, and web-based features.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your ReefATLAS login credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate account information and promptly update it when needed.

Subscriptions and Paid Features

ReefATLAS may offer paid access to features, including auto-renewable subscriptions such as ReefATLAS PAR Estimator Monthly. Subscription details, including the product title, subscription length, price, and renewal terms, are shown before purchase in the app and through the applicable app marketplace.

For subscriptions purchased through Apple, payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your App Store account settings. ReefATLAS cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf.

Refund requests for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies. ReefATLAS may change subscription pricing or features in the future, but any changes will be handled through the applicable marketplace and required user notices.

Connected Services

If you connect Ring or another third-party service, you authorize ReefATLAS to exchange information with that service as needed to provide the features you request. You must comply with the third-party service's terms, privacy policy, permissions, and platform rules. You may disconnect third-party integrations through the relevant service settings where available or by contacting ReefATLAS support.

Acceptable Use

You may not use ReefATLAS to violate law, invade privacy, bypass access controls, interfere with service operation, scrape or abuse APIs, upload malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or use Ring data outside permissions granted by the Ring user.

Reef, Device, and PAR Information

ReefATLAS provides planning, tracking, lighting-estimation, and informational tools. It is not veterinary, engineering, life-safety, emergency-response, professional security, or professional aquarium-care advice. You remain responsible for aquarium care decisions, livestock placement, lighting changes, device placement, connected-device settings, and compliance with applicable laws.

The ReefATLAS PAR Estimator provides estimates only. Actual PAR can vary because of fixture age, lens condition, mounting height, spectrum settings, tank dimensions, water clarity, surface agitation, lids, salt creep, aquascape shadowing, measurement equipment, and other conditions outside ReefATLAS's control. The PAR Estimator is not a certified measurement device or a substitute for direct in-tank testing with an appropriate PAR meter.

Intellectual Property

ReefATLAS and its software, design, content, and trademarks are owned by ReefATLAS or its licensors. You retain ownership of project content you enter into ReefATLAS, but you grant ReefATLAS permission to host, process, display, and transmit that content to provide the service.

User Content and Local Projects

You are responsible for the information you enter into ReefATLAS, including tank dimensions, equipment selections, light settings, livestock records, notes, and support requests. Some standalone app features may store projects locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups or records that are important to you.

Availability and Changes

ReefATLAS may change, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. We may also update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

ReefATLAS is provided as available and without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReefATLAS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, device failures, aquarium losses, or third-party service interruptions.
